I don't know if companies like IBM are really embracing OSS. I spoke to some one at IBM GS the other day who was working on a new Web-based Content Managment System. I mentioned that he should take a look at Zope. He said, "We don't do the open source thing, we are going to build our own in Perl." I ran away to bang my head against the wall.
