Useful JavaScript

Posted on Monday April 24, @12:03AM Pacific
Programming JavaScript has many uses. I would like to point out two which I find especially appealing. One is overLib which is a JavaScript library created to enhance websites with small popup information boxes to help visitors around your website(similar to tooltips). It provides the user with information about what will happen before they click on a link as well as navigational help. The second is Bookmarklets which are tiny programs (a JavaScript application) contained in a bookmark (the URL is a "javascript:" URL) which can be saved and used the same way you use normal bookmarks. Once you start using Bookmarklets, you will find many uses for them. As always feel free to add your own JavaScript tips below.

    Easy way of create Folder-Tree

by David Rubin on Friday April 28, @11:28PM
A compact, fast, reusable script that lets you enhance your site with an outliner that looks and feels like Windows Explorer. JavaScript and DHTML versions available free for download. See JavaScript DHTML outliner by Marcelino Martins: Folder-Tree.

    • display folders and docs using a database

by jhemm on Monday February 26, @04:04AM
there are a lot of codes out there teaching one as to how to create a folder tree. However all of the ones that i've seen so far are manual. Meaning you have to build the tree one by one.
      like for example....
      ....
      ...
      ...etc.

does anybody knows how to populate the tree with the use of a database like ms access?...what fields are needed and how would you call these fields?...

      thanks so much...
