StuffIncommon.com makes use of a Java applet to produce a uniquely visual online community platform. Communities consist of rooms with a whiteboard, icons for downloadable files (text, images, music), virtual sticky notes, polls, web bookmarks, and doorways into other rooms. People in the same room can chat with each other via text chat. Rooms can be linked in an infinite variety of ways, creating a virtual maze of connections. The StuffIncommon platform has the potential to be used in very creative ways.
